Established in 2003 as a family owned business and based in Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, Realistic Wing Chun provides a complete training programme focused on personalised training for the individual. The training involves taking you from your current fitness levels and culminates in high intensity fight preparation and physical conditioning.

Our training methods are proven for highly effective, realistic street self-defence. We train for all the ranges to include kicking range, close quarter, trapping, grappling, ground, multiple attackers, and weapons.

 

 

Our physical conditioning works the whole body, building functional strength, endurance, agility and flexibility, using a variety of training methods from natural body-weight and free-weights.

Whether you train in Wing Chun, Combatives or Self Defence your training will involve working with focus-pads, kick shields, heavy punch bags and medicine balls. Emphasis will be to build and condition punching power and speed, develop legs for kicking and light, fast footwork. Core conditioning to generate power, add stability and to help the body absorb blows. You will balance the physical training by learning and developing your fighting skills and techniques. The skills the student learns are not just for the training room, they are pressure tested in demanding circumstances, so ultimately the student is confident in his/her ability to defend themselves. By a natural process the student will discard techniques that are not effective and by the same process retain those techniques that work.

Realistic Wing Chun training is not a "Quick-Fix-six-weeks-Master-course." If you're looking for that, you've come to the wrong place.

If you want to learn classical Wing Chun Kung Fu for close quarter fighting or self defence as shown in the above website, The Wing Chun system consists of three hand forms, two weapons forms and Wooden Dummy form . Each form is linked to the other in a logical common sense way. The training is intense and thorough. The techniques you learn are pressure tested, so you know they will work in real world situations. You are most welcome to train with us or attend one of our skill path seminars. Combatives for a complete all-round fighter, skilful in striking, throwing or takedowns, joint locks and manipulation, choking, ground fighting & submission and usage of human pressure points (pressure points strikes). There are no forms or katas just effective self defence skills. Learning and understanding the true meaning of a complete fighting method.

Women's Self Defence gives women the skills and confidence to overcome dangers from those with criminal intention. Learn instant reactive response against most common acts of violence. Self Defence women learn to use pressure points strikes to level the odds against male aggressors who are generally stronger. Core Strength Conditioning to augment our martial arts training. You can use your martial arts skills more effectively if you are fit and strong. Training in martial arts requires a certain degree of fitness covering strength, stamina and endurance. HOW YOU TRAIN IS HOW YOU WILL FIGHT. EXAMINE YOUR CURRENT TRAINING REGIMEN.

In order for men/women to use combat skills effectively when confronted with real dangers, the training must cover both attacks based and scenarios based situations against fully resisting opponent/s in a stress-induced atmosphere (shouting, cursing, surprise attack, weapons). We must feel our techniques working against the opponent's resistance, erratic movements, sweaty hands and bodies, our strikes missing the target, being hit in return, and a host of variables common in many hostile situations. By experiencing all these, we get to improvise our combative techniques and prepare our mindset for any eventual real life encounters.

Here are some basic guidelines for practicing Realistic Wing Chun:

1. Focus more on open hand techniques such as palm heel strike, elbow strike and knife hand chop against vulnerable targets on the head and body.

2. Develop reaction techniques that work like Finger jabs, punching, etc. Also use spitting, slapping, poking, clawing, stomping, kneeing, sweeping, head butting, or even biting.

3. Discard techniques that require fine motor skills because you might not be able to execute such moves under extreme stress or high adrenaline. In fact you might "freeze in fear". This includes certain complex joint locks or throws, high kicks, jumping kicks, spinning kicks and etc.

4. Focus on learning and practicing realistic, straight forward techniques against many types of grabs, chokes, bear hugs and other habitual acts of violence commonly being perpetrated against men/women.

5. Improve your skills with pressure points strikes especially those that can cause the assailant to reel in sharp pain and temporarily forget about you, or lose control of his limbs and mobility.

6. Make full and aggressive use of distraction techniques like spitting the face, cupping the ears, poking the eyes, stomping the feet, or even slapping the groin.

7. Learn to escape from the ground when being mounted, pinned or held down. Once free, learn to get up fast and maintain the best defensive position/posture (since you already know the assailant intend to mount/pin/hold you down).

Realistic Wing Chun TRAINING offers a highly personalised training programme. We offer private, semi private and small group training in your chosen discipline as well as personal fitness courses in Newport Pagnell for adults. We strongly feel that our knowledge and experience will help you gain a wider and more focused perspective in your training. We have been in teaching professionally in Newport Pagnell since 2003.

You will receive 100% attention and benefit fully from one to one tuition. Training is undertaken at a pace that is suitable to you. Statistics report that students learn three times faster than those students who train in a class environment.

We recommend using our training facility for your Private Training Sessions for several reasons; The main one being that once you are out of your home/ comfort zone you are less likely to be distracted by the kids/work/telephone/ etc. and therefore maximizing your time and training effectiveness.

Our unique Core Conditioning programmes have been described as awesome by people who train in them, and you will love it! You will develop functional strength and muscle endurance, explosive speed, stamina and flexibility via our progressive bodyweight conditioning workouts. No one is turned away and beginners start at their own pace.

Realistic Wing Chun Traqining is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm and offers flexible training programmes, schedules and rates.

Private Lessons are designed for those students who wish for more personalised training. Private lessons are sixty minutes long and are scheduled for day or evening. Training includes instruction in your chosen discipline, fitness conditioning, reaction drills and various training exercises. POA.

Semi Private Lessons are designed for two people. In our opinion, this is the preferred way to train. It's more affordable and more enjoyable. Again, lessons are sixty minutes long and are scheduled day or evening. Training includes instruction in your chosen discipline, fitness conditioning, reaction drills and various training exercises. Private Group Lessons (max.4) the interactivity between students creates a great learning environment for both the students and instructor. Lessons are generally sixty minutes but can be longer by arrangement. ( RWC T recommend no longer than ninety minutes). POA.
